John Bradshaw "Brad" Bugg II

John Bradshaw “Brad” Bugg II, age 59, of Saint Jo passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024. He will be missed by many. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Brad was born on March 28, 1965 in Gainesville to Johnny Bradshaw and Marie Myrtle (Moore) Bugg. He graduated from Gainesville High School in 1983. He was a HUGE University of Oklahoma fan. He loved anything to do with sports, especially OU sports. He was so proud of his career of over 40 years as a truck driver. He was just recognized for his 2 million mile no accident driving record with his employer Active USA out of Denton. His union brothers and work family held a very special place in his heart. Brad’s most important accomplishment was his sobriety of over 11 years. As one of his friends said: “He was always quick to share his recovery story”. He said he always enjoyed watching the sparkle in his eyes as he shared the message of hope for an alcoholic/addict. It was his mission to lead people to sobriety if he could. You would often find him wearing his bracelet that sad “Sober is Sexy!” along with his OU attire. He helped many. Last but not least, he loved his family and worked hard to provide for them. He was so very proud of his son, Seth, and was proud to be his dad. They shared a lot of fun, goofy memories together. Memories of vacations to the mountains and the beach. They loved to jam out to some of their favorite songs on the radio. Family was very important to him. He loved the holidays and holiday meals especially his field pecan pies and Nannie’s homemade fudge and chicken and dressing. He looked forward to any time that he could spend time with his brothers and sisters as well. He married his wife, Marty Lyons Bugg, on December 31, 1995. She was his support, his go-to, his constant, but mostly and will always be his BFF (Best Friend Forever). Brad was preceded in death by his parents: Johnny and Marie Bugg; brother: Larry Bugg; father-in-law: Dalton Lyons; and several aunts and uncles. He is survived by his wife: Marty Bugg; son: Seth Bugg; Brothers: Robby and wife Lisa Thacker, and Kevin and wife Tammy Biggar; sisters: Cindy and husband Chip Heller, and Nicki Watson; mother-in-law: Cindy Lyons; Brothers-in-law: Rusty Lyons and Jody Lyons; and numerous extended family and friends.
