The family received visitors before the service from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM. Arrangements were under the direction of Scott Funeral Home in Saint Jo. On August 31, 2018, Irlene Tuggle Hogan went home to be with the Lord. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Irlene was born February 22, 1929 to Noah and Veleria (Montgomery) Pitman in the Bulcher area. Irlene married Robert (Bob) Tuggle on February 19, 1944. They had five beautiful children. Irlene married Jack Hogan in February 1975. They had many wonderful years together. Irlene loved working in the yard and flower beds, feeding the birds, and being with family and friends. She worked in several nursing homes and as an aide with Annie Ruth Mitchell at Saint Jo ISO. Irlene also worked ten years at the Denton State School. Irlene is survived by daughters: Bobbye (Choice) Stephens; Chetia (Richard) Whittington; and Vicki (Gary) Boaz; son Robby (Joyce) Tuggle; sister Jean Mc Mahan; sister-in laws Mildred Pitman and Frances Parsons; brother-in-law Boomer (V.R.) Tuggle; 13 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her wonderful friend/neighbor Nelda Luster. Each person in Irlene's life was individually special to her. She made sure each person felt how special they were to her; some of the favorite ways Irlene did this was with special, personal messages written in every card she sent and fabulous back scratches. Irlene was preceded in death by her parents; dear friend and companion Milton Marshall; husband Jack Hogan; husband Bob Tuggle; infant son Robert Samuel Tuggle; brothers: Tom Pitman, Arthur Pitman, and Joe Pitman; and sisters: Wilma Holmes, and Hazel White. Pallbearers were her grandsons: Scott Stephens, Steven Whittington, Steven Boaz, Josh Tuggle, Jacob Tuggle, and Tyler Boaz. In honor of our Pastor, Bill Black, the family requests memorial donations be made to ABBA Women's Center (214 N. Taylor Street, Gainesville, TX 76240) in lieu of flowers.
