Mary Kathryn 'Kathy' (Davis) Corley

A loving wife, mother, and grandma went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 28, 2021. Pastor Mary Kathryn ‘Kathy’ (Davis) Corley was born on December 8, 1955 in Wichita Falls, Texas to George Wesley and Phyllis Rose (Austin) Davis. She was a graduate of both Texas Women’s University in Denton and Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls earning her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. Kathy married the love of her life, Richard E. ‘Buddy’ Corley in June 1987 in Iowa Park, Texas. She was an instructor at North Center Texas College in history, government, and sociology. While at NCTC, she also taught dual credit courses which helped prepare many high school students for higher education by giving them an opportunity to earn college credit along side their high school studies. She was also a Methodist Pastor. Her favorite roles within the church were teaching the Youth about God and when she was allowed to perform baptisms. Kathy loved studying religion, serving her church, spending time with her grandchildren, traveling, teaching, and spending time out at the family farm. She will be remembered and missed by her husband: Richard Corley of Bowie; sons: Kent Benson of Wichita Falls an J.W. and wife Stacy Riley of Cove, Texas; grandchildren: Makala Riley ad Davis Riley of Cove, Texas; brother: David and wife Carol Tipton of Colleyville, Texas; and numerous friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: George and Phyllis Davis. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, January 3, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church in Saint Jo. The family would like to thank Dr. Vance and the staff at Texas Oncology for all of their care.
