April 20, 1952 - April 13, 2020
A memorial service for Monica will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 8, 2020 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. It is with sadness that we announce that Monica Dianne (Yosten) Koesler, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, accepted her calling from the Lord and passed away peacefully at her home on April 13, 2020, at the age of 67. Monica was born on April 20, 1952, to Felix and Betty Yosten. She married her longtime friend and love, Karl Koesler, on September 22, 2001. Monica is survived by her brothers, Cy (Angie) Yosten and Tom (Joyce) Yosten, her sisters, Bernadette (Curt) Chadwick and Linda Yosten, and brother-in-law Bill Blanchard. She was the beloved mother of Misti (Craig) Morrow, Josh (Kelly) McCoy, and Jake (Kristin) McCoy, and Kyle Koesler. Monica was the proud grandmother of Bailey, Samantha, Martie, Collin, Ethan, Sloane, and Carly. Monica enjoyed sewing, making doll clothes, stuffed bears and quilts when her children were young. She loved to garden and always had a rose bush around for fresh cut roses. Her hands were rarely still. She planned on spending her retirement days in her new garden shed before she was diagnosed with cancer. As many of us know and have experienced, Monica also shared her love with food, making cookies for her grandchildren, baking pies for friends, and lasagna and hot, cheesy potatoes for family gatherings. Her stuffing at Thanksgiving was a definite fan-favorite, too! Monica was a Sacred Heart graduate Class of 1970. After graduation, Monica was a beautician in the metroplex for several years. She moved back to Muenster and worked as a waitress before getting a job in the business office at Sacred Heart Church where she worked for 27 years before retiring. She was looking forward to seeing all of her classmates this summer at their 50th High School Class reunion. She devoted her life to her faith and family. Her life was a living example of the Bible verse Ephesians 4:32- “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.” Monica never met a stranger and welcomed all with an open heart and spiritual mind. She instilled in her children an inner strength and passionate value system that has and will continue to sere them well each and every day. As she did in life, she is smiling and laughing with us now- just from Heaven. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
