September 17, 1938 - May 9, 2022
Graveside service for Peggy Valine O’Brien ‘Grannie’, age 83, will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Dixie Cemetery in Whitesboro. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Scott Funeral Home in Muenster. Grannie was born on September 17,1938 to Val and Clara Mae Kincy. She was the only girl and had two brothers Robert and Carroll. Peggy was a loving, kind, onry, full of spunk and was not afraid to tell you how it was. Peggy loved going to her Grandad’s house when she was younger. She always talked about how Grandad would ask for her to catch the chickens because she was the fastest and the boys were too slow. Peggy worked for Lorch for many years then worked for Peterbilt after that until she retired. Peggy loved bowling and playing softball and had a natural talent at both. We are pretty sure Grannie was the LUCKIEST woman when it came to playing on football boards. Peggy loved her family and moved from Gainesville to Muenster in the early 90’s so she could be closer to her grandkids. Grannie was at all her grandchildren’s games and was well known in the community. Grannie always got a kick when one of the grandkids called to come get them because they were in trouble. Every summer Grannie would take her two grandkids Brittany and Bill to Longview to visit her brother Carroll. The drive was never a dull moment and would hear one of the grandkids say “floorboard it Grannie” when she was passing a car. Anytime she called she would always say “this is your friendly neighborhood Grannie”. Grannie loved to go walking and take her dog Sammie for walks. Grannie always said “if Sammie can’t go then I am not going”. Sammie was her best friend, and she did whatever she could for her. Peggy never knew a stranger and loved to pick on everyone. Grannie love going to Babe’s gas station and giving all the men a hard time. One of Grannie's favorite sayings was “bite me”, and if you aggravated her then she would flip you the bird and laugh. You never knew what was going to come out of her mouth. Peggy went to be with the lord on May 9,2022. She will be welcomed by her mother and father Val and Clara Mae. Her Granddad Ernest Kincy and Grandma Essie Kincy. Her oldest brother Robert Kincy, her son Billy Dean, her nephew Jeff Kincy, her dog Sammie and many other family members. She is survived by her daughter D’Ann Haverkamp and her husband Billy Haverkamp. Her two grandkids Brittany Break and Bill Haverkamp. Along with her 3 great grandchildren Bristol Break, Oakley Haverkamp, and Bryleigh Break. Her younger brother Carroll Kincy and his wife Jeanette Kincy. Her niece Kathy Cowart and her husband Raymond Cowart and their two kids Chris and Holly Cowart. Charlotte Kincy, and her son Colton Kincy.
