Billye Ruth (Williams) Huchton

Mass of Christian Burial for Billye Ruth (Williams) Huchton, age 102, of Muenster will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Rosary will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mrs. Huchton passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024. Billye was born on October 1, 1922 at Salona, Montague County, Texas to Calvin L. and Estelle (Stella) May Campbell Williams. She graduated from Ryan High School, Ryan Oklahoma in 1940. Billye traveled to Oregon in 1943 to marry John F. Huchton who had been drafted into the army and was then in basic training at Fort Ord. After his Honorable Discharge from the army for health reasons, the couple made their home in California until the end of World War II when they returned to Muenster to raise their family. Billye enjoyed working in the public sphere, and had a long career in retail sales: B&B Sales in Gainesville, Inlook Outlet in Muenster and Gainesville, and Crafty Ole German in Muenster. Her favorite hobbies were sewing clothing for her children and grandchildren and reading the newspapers. Most of her life was spent in Muenster, but during her long illness, she lived in a care facility in Denton, Texas, where she died on October 13, 2024. Billye is survived by two sons, David Huchton of Lindsay, Lynn Huchton and wife JoAnn of Lindsay and one daughter, Suzanne Huchton Stevens and husband Ike of Denton. Her grandchildren are Tammy Huchton Bezner of Lindsay, Troy Huchton of Lindsay, Tracey Huchton of Gainesville, Tommy Huchton of Muenster, Travis Huchton of Gainesville, Hank Huchton of Lindsay, Virginia (Ginny) Ford of Muenster, Calvin Huchton of Lindsay, Shane Huchton of Forestburg, Dana Huchton Burton of Krum. Valerie Huchton Alexander of Muenster, Katelynn Huchton of Denton, Aaron Stevens of Plano and John Stevens of Valley View. She is survived by 40 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Joyce Bell of Stephens Lake, Washington. She was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Huchton, her parents Calvin and Estelle Williams, siblings Lorene Huchton, Evelena (Jackie) Aytes, Christine McBride, Mary Davis, CL Williams, Lynn Williams, and daughter-in-law, Margie Huchton.
