Clara Mae (Henscheid) Endres

Mass of Christian Burial for Clara Mae (Henscheid) Endres, age 92 of Muenster, was held at 10:00 AM, Friday, March 16, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Muenster with Father Ken Robinson officiating. Burial followed in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Rosary and Vigil was held at 7:00 PM, Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Sacred Heart Community Center. Clara’s six sons: Clinton Endres, Stan Endres, Gary Endres, Phil Endres, Monte Endres, and Roger Endres served as Pallbearers at the Funeral Mass and Burial. Arrangements were under the direction of Scott Funeral Home in Muenster. Mrs. Endres passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2018. Clara Mae (Henscheid) Endres was born in Muenster on September 4, 1925 to Albert and Dora S. (Hesse) Henscheid. The family lived on the Henscheid farm, just north of Muenster, with Clara’s Grandfather, Henry Henscheid. As Clara learned to talk, it was the German language that she spoke, as it was the only language spoken in the Henscheid household at the time. That was the case until she started school at Sacred Heart Catholic School, where the Nuns taught her to speak English. Clara married Edward W. Endres on May 2, 1944 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Muenster. They moved into a small house at 906 N. Main in Muenster. The house would be their home for more than fifty years. Through the years, it was enlarged several times to make room for their growing family. Over a twenty-year period, Clara gave birth to thirteen children. During the Wake Service, Carla Schilling Zwinggi, Clara’s Godchild, read the Eulogy, which highlighted a life-long devotion to God and Family. Survivors include her daughters: Dianne (Charles) Etheridge of Bullard, TX, Paulette Swirczynski of Muenster, Connie (James) French of Shady Shores, Nancy Bezner of Temple, Rhonda (Kenneth) Hartman of Muenster, Laurie (David) Flusche of Muenster; sons: Clinton (Debbie) Endres, Stan (Janet) Endres, Gary (Mary) Endres, Phil (Marlene) Endres, Monte (Jacque) Endres, and Roger (Donna) Endres all of Muenster; thirty-nine grandchildren; sixty-seven great grandchildren; sisters: Regina Pels of Muenster, Leoba (George) Mollenkopf of Muenster and Alma (Ronnie) Herr of Gainesville; sisters-in-law, Carol Henscheid of Muenster, Marjorie Endres of Austin, Eileen Endres of Garland, and Elitha Endres of Muenster. Brothers-in-law: Herbie Miller of Muenster, Hugh “Cotton (Mary) Endres of Albuquerque, NM and Gene LaGesse of Austin. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Dora (Hesse) Henscheid, husband, Edward W. Endres, son, Leon Endres, sisters: Rosalie Schilling and Delores Miller; brothers: Virgil Henscheid and Ervin Henscheid; sons-in-law: Tom Swirczynski and Brian Bezner. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Sacred Heart Trust Fund.
